The following lists several strategies or methods for fighting the Aviansie. For the monster, see Aviansie.

Note: It is possible to use a Zaryte bow with any of the methods mentioned below. Using the Zaryte bow or any other piece of ancient armour will make all factions unaggressive!

Prayer method

Skill Minimum Recommended
Ranged 61 70+
Prayer 40 50+
Magic 55 (for High Alchemy) 61 (for Trollheim Teleport)
Slayer 1 55 (for Broad-tipped bolts)

Notes

  • This guide will help players make around 200k to 400k per hour, depending on a few factors such as luck and the rate of kills per hour.
  • Players will also need either level 60 Agility or level 60 Strength to bypass one of the obstacles to get into the God Wars Dungeon.
  • Finishing the Eadgar's Ruse quest is highly recommended for a quick teleport up the mountain.
  • It is highly recommended to wear decent ranged armour, as well as prayer boosting items. If you are fine for cash, then try using items such as Armadyl Pendant (but don't forget to wear items to protect you from other god monsters, especially the ones from Zamorak!)
  • Players should stick to killing the lower level Aviansies near the Boss God room, by doing this only 1 god item is needed and that is Zamorak to protect against his followers, all other items are rendered useless and can be substituted.
  • Having a Summoning level of at least 33 will be helpful for healing familiars or beasts of burden.
  • Higher levelled players can profit from fighting in the main dungeon, because the aid of other god monsters will improve your kill rate, and therefore the amount of drops you receive.

Inventory

Notes and tips

  • Using the Trollheim teleport will leave players with 2 extra inventory spaces which will cater for storing noted Adamant bars and casting the High Level Alchemy spell on drops.
  • If players obtain swordfish as a drop and do not require it, it should be left on the floor, or traded with another player. Alternatively, if players have bones to peaches, it is recommended to bury the bones or eat the peaches to make space for swordfish.
  • Players should never be in danger of death, so using Home Teleport is a good way to exit.
  • If players are nervous about the God Wars Dungeon, they may bring along a one-click teleport (such as an Ectophial.)
  • When players start freeing up spaces as the prayer potions are used, drops such as Grimy ranarr can be picked up.
  • It is recommended that players only bring 1,000-2,000 bolts in case of accidental death.
  • While fire staff is optional, it is preferred to bring enough fire runes. This way players do not have to switch the crossbow with the staff, and while having the staff equipped, they may accidentally cast High Level Alchemy on their crossbow.

Titan method

The recommended setup using titan familiars.

This method is around 1,500+ kills earning 3m+ coins worth in drops at least but it depends on the amount of titans and scrolls you bring with you.

Inventory

Notes and tips

  • Use the titan's special move scroll 3 times when you get to around 300 life points less than your max.
  • Use Enhanced excalibur when below 400 life points (the excalibur restores 200 life points and raises defence).

Ranged Method

A cheap, and alternate equipment setup

For those with 70+ ranged, inside Armadyl's Eyrie:

Equipment

  • Items marked with an asterisk (*) are to protect you from the other monsters in the dungeon. It is highly suggested to have a Zamorak, Saradomin, Bandos (not needed, but it still helps) and Armadyl item, as the minions wander near the location and it is a multi-combat area.
  • It is also advised to use the vampyrism aura if you have it, as it can heal upwards of 4000 LP during one use and can be used every 4 hours, allowing the player to make longer trips for more profit.

Inventory

  • 500 Fire runes (or optionally, a Fire rune-supplying staff as a substitute)
  • 100 Nature runes
  • 2 Law Runes
  • Varrock Teleport Tablet
  • 2 Ranging potions (4)
  • Full inventory of food, Monkfish, Sharks etc.
  • If a player runs out of food or runs low,it is strongly advised you pick up the bones they drop and convert them to peaches.
  • Bones to Peaches Tablets (Runes work as well)
  • Excalibur for a temporary defence boost
  • A rope (only if it's your first time in the God Wars Dungeon)

Notes and tips

  • Wear the highest prayer bonus so your prayer will drain slower.
  • The archer helm is more cost effective than the robin hood hat or coifs, but for those who haven't completed The Fremennik Trials, a blessed coif is recommended.
  • For those who have not finished Eadgar's Ruse or do not have the required magic level to teleport to Trollhiem, wear Climbing boots.
  • Turn on Protect from Missiles at all times if players do not have an Armadyl item equipped, or use it only when fighting higher level Avansies (87-131), which saves Prayer.

Tanking method

This method of fighting Aviansies utilises the Barrows equipment. This allows players to make more profit than with prayer potions. However, this method requires a decent Defence level and will cost more to get all the equipment, but players may make more profit in the long run.

Skill Minimum Recommended
Ranged 65 70+
Defence 70 75+
Prayer 40 (for Protect from Missiles prayer; to avoid attacks from the Thrower trolls) 68 (for Deflect Missiles)
Magic 55 (for High Alchemy) 61 (for Trollheim Teleport)
Smithing 1 50+
Slayer 55 (For Broad-tipped bolts)

Equipment

File:Pro Tank.png
Sufficient Aviansie Tank Gear.
1. ^  Torag's helm is used instead of a God equipment for head wear as body and shield is already used for a God equipment. Optionally, a player might choose to use Karil's coif as it adds better range bonus while sacrificing some defence bonus.
2. ^  Zamorak/Saradomin d'hide is used for body instead of Torag's platebody as Torag's platebody interferes with Ava's accumulator and Alerter.
3. ^  Broad-tipped bolts are used as they do more damage than Mithril bolts but costs less.
4. ^  If players use Saradomin d'hide for body armour, then they should use an Unholy book as a shield and vice-versa.

Non-barrows method

This method is recommended for players with 80+ Defence level and players who are able to afford this method. Just like with the Barrows equipment, players are able to stay in the dungeon for a long time but will not need to exit to repair their Barrows armour. However, if players happen to die, they will lose some valuable items. This method also gives a very good Ranged bonus and a modest Defence bonus. Obviously, Prayer potions are not needed with this method. Using a Helm of neitiznot along with a decent shield such as a Blessed spirit shield, Dragonfire shield, Toktz-ket-xil, or a Granite shield, along with dragonhide, Karil's or Armadyl's armour results in high accuracy with decent defence bonuses. Any Barrows helmet may be substituted in place of the Helm of neitiznot, or if you are clear cut with using NO barrows items at all, a rune full helm, Dragon full helm, or dragon helm will suffice.

Skill Minimum Recommended
Ranged 65 70+
Defence 70 80+
Prayer 40 (for Protect from Missiles prayer; to avoid attacks from the Thrower trolls)
Magic 55 (for High Alchemy) 61 (for Trollheim Teleport)
Slayer 55 (for Broad-tipped bolts)
Smithing 1 73 (for Adamant bolts)
Fletching 1 61 (for Adamant bolts)

Equipment

1. ^  Bandos Tassets give much better range defence, but the cost makes them practical to only wealthy players. May also be borrowed from another player. Or, you can use Verac's plateskirt , it has about the same defence bonuses.
2. ^  Broad-tipped bolts can be replaced by Mithril bolts or Adamant bolts if the player does not have 55 Slayer.

Inventory

Notes and tips

  • This will leave players with 1 free inventory space for noted Adamant bars or for coins obtained from "high alchemised" drops.
  • After players have teleported to their destination, another free space will be added unless players carries an extra law rune to pick up the law rune drops from aviansies.
  • Any arrows generated by Ava's device should be dropped as players need the space for the Bones to Peaches spell. Alternatively, players can disable the arrow generating by right-clicking the device in the equipment screen and selecting 'Toggle'. Whenever there is a free space, bones should be picked up for Bones to Peaches.
    • If there are some spare bones on the ground, players may drop something for a second, pick up the bones, perform the spell, eat the extra peaches, and then pick up the dropped item.
    • If players obtain Swordfish as a drop, they could bury the bones they have and pick up the Swordfish. If they have less than 5 bones and extra peaches, they may eat some peaches.
    • The priority is: Swordfish > Peaches > Bones
  • For inexperienced players, they are recommended to bring a one-click teleport such as an Ectophial. Experienced users may just use the Home Teleport spell instead of bringing the one-click teleport.
  • When players are nearing the end of a trip, Air and Law runes should be picked up. This enables them to teleport to Varrock to sell their drop items.
    • Since Law runes are a fairly common drop, an extra Law rune should be taken to hold an inventory space for teleporting out later.
  • The amount of bolts brought by a player depends on the willingness to lose them, in case the unforeseeable happens and the player is killed.
  • If players are in trouble and do not have enough bones to warrant a Bones to Peaches tablet, then they should use their Prayer for a while to survive until they obtain enough bones. Alternatively, players should kill some weak monsters, such as goblins, for their bones.
  • Learning the Bone to Peaches spell from the Mage Training Arena may save players large amounts of coins. Instead of having to buy the tablets, they could simply bring extra nature runes. By bringing a Lava Battlestaff and picking up the Water runes that they drop, you will supply yourself with fire runes for High level alchemy, as well as water and earth runes for Bones to Peaches.

Bunyip method

This method allows for 1,000+ kills in a single trip and earning over 3 million coins worth in drops. A ring of life and a one-click teleport is highly recommended for players of any experience level. A Bunyip may provide healing for 70-90 kills. Generally, the player's Life Points will stay between 0 and 200 points lower than the their maximum.

Inventory

Notes and tips

  • If players are getting damaged constantly, they should check to make sure the Excalibur's special attack has worn off. If it has, players should use the special attack to boost their defence again.
  • If the player's Life Points are below 200, they should either stop and allow their Bunyip to heal them or take one bite of a pineapple pizza and continue fighting.
  • The Bones to Peaches tablets may be replaced by another Bunyip pouch or a potion, as a Bunyip will provide healing for 44 minutes.

Void Knight method

File:Void avies HD SUMM.png
A player wearing void to the aviansies, using summoning as well.

Due to the Void Knight Robes' low defence, the lower your actual defence level, the faster your bones to peaches will be used. This method requires at least 70 defence, while higher levels such as 80 are recommended. This method allows for the player to kill aviansies with the increased damage from the void knight armour. (This method may be better to use in the eyrie because only zamorak and armadyl followers are there.)

Inventory

Notes

With the release of the Void Shield players can now replace the unholy book and bring Armadyl/Karils/black dragonhide top instead of Void top.
This method has low ranged defence, so peaches will be used up faster then when tanking, but the player will get a higher kill count faster.

Magic training method

This method has good accuracy; however, players won't net much money from aviansies but can train magic quickly. The spell type used should be any of the air or water, if the player has a tome of frost, spells. (Wave spells recommended)
Players should keep an eye on their Hitpoints as most magic armours have low Ranged defence. This is why the Void Knight Equipment is great here, as it provides both a Magic bonus and decent Ranged defence.
