Saradomin's holy book is a book held in place of a shield, and is the God book aligned with Saradomin. For information on how to acquire a God book, see the God books article. With a holy book, a player can preach and perform ceremonies, such as blessing, last rites, and wedding rites by operating it.
Also, if a player's Prayer level is 50 or higher, they can bless holy symbols with a holy book by expending 30 Prayer points for each symbol. It is obtained after completing Horror from the Deep. If you lose this item you can reclaim it at the lighthouse for no cost by speaking to Jossik. He will tell you how it washed up from a river.
After completion of One Piercing Note, if the book has all four pages, and you have 60 crafting and 60 prayer, you can use it to create an Illuminated Holy Book. This leaves you with both the Saradomin's Holy Book and an Illuminated Holy Book.
When reading blessings, wedding ceremonies, last rites, or preaches, you expend 25% of your special attack energy.
The holy book enhances a wielder's defensive stats, while providing no offensive bonuses. That makes it somewhat of a worse choice than a defender for melee combat, as defenders provide Attack and Strength bonuses. It is a better choice for rangers, mages or strength pures as it provides no negative bonuses and gives defensive bonuses.
Filling the Holy book with all its pages has an average cost of 2,748,913 coins.
