Walkthrough
Starting off
To avoid the sort of shortages experienced last year, Diango's gotten more of a head start on construction of Christmas items. However, he has a little bit of a problem. To cut cost, he tried using some of the wood from the trees near the Draynor Manor. For those who have been there, you should know that the trees there have a bit of a mind of their own. Diango also has a problem of a rather imposing tree that has started to grow through his factory floor. The tree has the unfortunate habit of swallowing those who get too close or try to pull out its roots, so Diango understandably wants this pest out of his workshop. Not to mention the poltergeists who have possessed items in the workshop. Perhaps if you "ain't afraid of no ghosts", you can help get rid of them and maybe get something for your trouble.<ref name="Guide">Hallowe'en 2006 Event Guide.*</ref>
Players started the event by talking to Diango in Draynor Village. He then handed players an empty Ghost Buster 500 with 50 rounds of white destabiliser and five lots of other, variously coloured destabilisers. His workshop was towards the north side of Draynor.<ref name="Guide">Error on call to Template:cite web: Parameters url and title must be specified.*</ref>
Ghosts
Once one entered Diango's Workshop, it became immediately apparent that tables, toy boatmen, wooden ducks, possessed puppets and creepy 'hand in box' toys had come to life. The toys and other such animated objects could not attack or hurt players, however the ghosts possessing them had been scaring the fairies, and as such had to leave.<ref name="Guide">Error on call to Template:cite web: Parameters url and title must be specified.*</ref> To rid a toy of its possessor, players simply had to load the Ghost Buster 500 with the white destabiliser, which revealed the ghost's true identity. Shooting the first ghost would earn players the scared emote. Once the ghost's colour had been revealed, players had to shoot it with the correspondingly coloured destabiliser, which would send the ghost screaming back into the Underworld.<ref name="Guide">Error on call to Template:cite web: Parameters url and title must be specified.*</ref> Once busted, ghosts would stay busted, even if players left the workshop.

After busting 3 of a particular ghost colour, Diango would reward players with one of the five pieces of the Skeleton costume. Obtaining the full set required players to bust three of every coloured ghost. Diango would then take back the ghostbusting equipment.
The Evil Tree
Diango also wanted players to rid his workshop of the tree in the middle. The best way to do that was be to try attacking it from the inside, cutting out the roots. Players needed to take a woodcutting axe and go to the front of the tree. Click on the roots in front of it and it will pull you down. You will see a bunch of hanging roots, which, if chopped, gave evil roots. Once you had chopped 10 evil roots, you could return to Diango to get your reward, a Jack lantern mask.
Rewards
See: Holiday Rewards
The Skeleton Set was the first Holiday reward received from Diango. The costume gives no bonus in any stats. Players had to banish different coloured ghosts in order to receive the costume. The costume consists of a mask, shirt, leggings, boots, and gloves.<ref name="holiday items guide">Holiday Items Guide.*</ref>

The Jack lantern mask was the second Holiday reward received from Diango. They have no bonuses so they are purely for show.<ref name="holiday items guide"></ref>
The rewards can be reclaimed from Diango in Draynor Village if lost or destroyed, and items may be stored in the costume room of your house. Through dying, a player could keep the ghostbuster 500.[source needed]
Trivia
- This event is based on the Ghostbusters movie, having similar elements and referencing the movie in a number of quotes. For example, when talking to Diango, he asks 'Who am I gonna call?' and your character would reply 'Me! I ain't afraid of no ghost!' Also, when given the explanation on how to use the Ghostbuster 500, Diango would warn "Whatever you do, don't cross the streams!"
- You can find the room with the Orb of Oculus in pyramid plunder. It's south-east of room 3.
- The trapdoor that used to lead to the workplace is still there, although it now leads to the Skullery, the hangout place of the Skulls.
