Leather cowls are leather armour worn on the head, most commonly by low-levelled rangers. Players can make this item through the Crafting skill at level 9 using soft leather, granting 18.5 Crafting experience. To do this, obtain soft leather, thread, and a needle, and choose create cowl to craft a leather cowl. They can also buy it from Aaron's Archery Appendages in the Ranging Guild. The leather cowl is also a drop from Warped cockroaches. The cowl has the same ranged bonuses as an uncharged Green dragonhide coif 0. This is one of the only cowl in the game, the other being the Pernix Cowl. Recently this cowl has been merched due it having such a low supply and low cost.

Uses
- The value of one Leather cowl in Mobilising Armies is 5 Investment Credits.
- This item can be used with monk's robes, to look like the folded down hood, as they have the exact same texture and colour.
- This item has recently been implemented into the Level 1 clue scroll emote clues.
- The leather cowl, worn along with a green cape (a cape dyed green) looks like a hood and a cloak, which may be effective for design purposes.
