The Royal d'hide chaps are made by crafting two royal dragon leathers. Wearing them requires 80 Ranged. They require 89 Crafting to make, and give 188 experience. Its stats are better than black d'hide chaps but worse than armadyl chainskirt (except for absorption and melee penalties).
It is commonly used as an upgrade from Black dragonhide armour for players who can't afford Armadyl armour, and meleers who'd like good magic defence and absorption while not degrading like Ganodermic armour or Karil's, or giving negative accuracy bonuses like Armadyl.

Trivia
- There is currently a glitch while only wearing Royal d'hide where the graphics of the player's right arm are twisted and curved. Whenever an action is performed that has any sort of arm movement, the character's arms will deform off the body and wave around. This has not been fixed yet.
- There is currently a graphical glitch that occurs when a player rest while Zen Resting is active.
