Uncut jade is the second lowest type of semi-precious gem in RuneScape. These are acquired via the Mining skill, but only from gem rocks, which are found mostly at the Shilo Village Gem Mine, as well as a few other locations. They can also be found while doing Museum artefact cleaning, from panning at the digsite near the River Salve, and can be occasionally obtained by pick-pocketing H.A.M members via the Theving skill.
An uncut jade can be cut with a chisel by a player with level 13 crafting, granting the player 20 crafting experience. However, there is a chance that the player will accidentally crush it into a crushed gem, which gives only 5 crafting experience. At level 69 crafting, 411 jade were crushed out of 2000. At 89 crafiting, 79 Jade were crushed out of 1000.
Cut jade may be sold to Gabooty's Tai Bwo Wannai Cooperative for 90 trading sticks, uncut may be sold for 18. This may be explained by the fact that cutting the gems destroys many of them, leading to increased value for the gems that actually survived the cutting process.
A cut jade is not used in the creation of jewellery, but players can use a chisel on an already cut jade to turn it into jade bolt tips, which are used to tip blurite bolts, creating jade bolts. As jade can only be used with blurite bolts, it is of very little value once cut.
Jade exist in RuneScape Classic, but the only use for them are in the Legends' Quest, the Digsite quest and as an item to sell to general stores for coins.
