Catching the raw tiger shark requires a fishing level of 95 and gives 80 experience. Cooking the shark requires a Cooking level of 95 and provides 230 experience.
A player can only get one Tiger Shark per trip and typically only gets one every 5 fishing trips. Because of this, it is recommended the player fish or buy rocktails from the Grand Exchange.

Trivia
- Along with the Saradomin Brew and Rocktails, this food item will boost the players maximum lifepoints above their base lifepoints (100 lifepoints if the player currently has full health).
- When used on a cooking range it will say "You can't cook that on a range," unlike its normal counterpart, which can be cooked on a range.
- It heals the most health of any fish in the game at 250 lifepoints. The Baron Shark technically heals 300 life points but this is not instantaneous.
- It has much a higher alchemy value than other fish. This is probably because it's not tradeable.
- Since Tiger sharks aren't tradeable, beast of burden familiars cannot be used to store them.
