- "Men" redirects here. For information on males in general, see Gender.
- This article is about the low-level monster. For the NPC near the Al Kharid Mine called Man, see Avan.
Men are found all over RuneScape, usually in towns such as Varrock, Ardougne, Falador, or Lumbridge, However, they can be found in some unusual places, like in level 30 Wilderness at The Forgotten Cemetery, or just south of the wall of Falador. If talked to, they sometimes give a flier. They can be killed as a good source of herbs for low levelled players. However, it is generally accepted that even for low levelled players, there are better things to kill for money/clue scrolls. Nevertheless, men still provide a good income of up to 200,000 coins per hour (usually 150,000 coins per hour).
Pickpocketing
Men and Women can be used to start Thieving by pickpocketing them at level 1. Each successful pickpocket gives 8 Thieving experience and 3 coins. Unsuccessful attempts result in a 5-second stun and 10 life points being taken. Having the lowest requirement to be stolen from, and giving a good amount of experience from each successful pickpocket, almost all members start Thieving in this way.
As with all pickpocketable monsters, to fail when pickpocketing a man degrades a wielded Crystal shield by 10 life points. After the Lost Her Marbles Miniquest from the Thieves' Guild, a successful pickpocket gives 20 coins.
Werewolves
Level 24 men and women can be found in Canifis. If attacked they will turn into level 88 Werewolves unless the player wields a Wolfbane dagger. The wolfbane dagger is a reward after the Priest in Peril quest. If the wolfbane dagger is unequipped, the man will regain full life points and turn into a werewolf.
