The Keenblade is a reward for completing a part of the new members tutorial. It is a drop from the troll general killed during the Burthorpe tutorial and is a potential drop from a Troll commando. You can also obtain it as a drop from the Troll brutes in the western portion of the Troll cave north of Burthorpe during and after the Burthorpe tutorial miniquest. It has stats roughly between an Iron 2h sword and a Steel 2h sword, but with a slight Prayer bonus. This item is useful for players with low Attack levels as there are no level requirements to wield it. The Keenblade is a common KO weapon for low level player, because of the certain hit of 50 hitpoints.

Special attack
The Keenblade's special attack always deals 50 damage. It will always hit a 30 through Protect from Melee, and 25 through the Staff of Light special. The animation is the same as the Saradomin Godsword's but it does not restore life points or prayer points. Using the attack costs 75% of the special attack bar.

- Its name might be a reference to the keyblade from the Kingdom Hearts series.
- A blade that is referred to as "keen" means that it has been sharpened more so than a normal blade of the same type.
- The Keenblade is visually similar to a Steel 2h sword other than a slightly jagged blade and a red gem set on the handle instead of a blue one. However, stat-wise the Keenblade is weaker.
- Unlike most swords, the Keenblade has same bonuses to slash and crush.
- This sword is similar to a real life weapon, the flamberge.
- The Keenblade has a special attack similar to that of a Saradomin Godsword
