The Fractite platebody is a tier 5 platebody only usable when Dungeoneering. Smithing one requires 49 Smithing and five Fractite bars. The Fractite platebody offers overall slightly higher defence bonuses than those of the Rune platebody and even a granite platebody (except crush, which is 1 less than an adamant platebody). Currently, it is the best F2P platebody in RuneScape, although it may only be worn in Daemonheim. As with all Fractite armour, Level 40 Defence is required to wear the platebody. Smithing a Fractite platebody grants the highest smithing experience within Daemonheim for F2P, a hefty 253 experience if XP-share is turned off, in addition to 32xp per Fractite bar smelted.
It is highly recommended for F2P players to bind a Fractite platebody if one is using the melee combat style while Dungeoneering. Not only is a Fractite platebody a rare drop, but the cost and time to make one can be troublesome (61,000 rusty coins is required to buy the 5 ores needed). After level 50 Dungeoneering, it is wise bind a Fractite platebody, rather than a chainbody, as a second bound item (of course, the first bound item should be a 2-handed fractite weapon).
Like all other armour in Daemonheim, it has one critical drawback: its weaknesses are drawn out to the maximum. The Fractite platebody has a very low crush defence bonus compared to the Rune platebody. However, this can easily be countered by wearing a plateskirt with it to improve its crush defence. However, if one wears a Fractite platebody, platelegs, full helm, boots and gauntlets, it would provide more stab, slash, and ranged defence than full rune with a kiteshield. However, the crush defence of this full set would be a smaller value as compared to defence against other attacks.

Trivia
- Apparently, whenever you have found/made a Fractite Platebody (and all the other Platebodies higher than Fractite and Kratonite), the blue light/object in the middle is not blue. However, when worn, it turns blue. This is not the case with Novite, Bathus or Marmaros Platebodies.
