Black d'hide coifs are rewards that can be purchased with Fist of Guthix tokens from the Fist of Guthix minigame. It requires level 40 Defence and level 70 Ranged to wear. This coif cannot be made with the Crafting skill.

It degrades with use similar with the Barrows equipment, and may only be traded when completely uncharged. To degrade the coif instantly (for trading), players may talk to Reggie, who will be able to degrade the coif.

Fully recharging the coif from its degraded state costs 50 FoG tokens.

These coifs, along with blessed dragonhide coifs, have the fifth best range bonus in the game lower than that of the Robin hood hat, although they give a greater ranged Defence bonus. Players may prefer not to use their Fist of Guthix tokens because it costs 500 Fist of Guthix tokens and the GE price is not very high. In addition, blessed dragonhide coifs have the same attack bonus and slightly better defence, do not degrade or require recharging, and come in a variety of versions. And some cost only a fraction of the price like the guthix coif.
