Examine text | A Black Knight with lots of combat experience. |
Black Knight guardians are elite guards and a division of the Kinshra, sent to guard important locations throughout Gielinor. While their appearance is identical to that of an Elite black knight, their strength and abilities are different. Two Black Knight Guardians are encountered as the bosses of A Void Dance, in which the Kinshra attempt to use a captive Void leech in order to weaken Falador. The Guardians protect the room with the pest in it, and one must be fought by the player, while the other is fought by Captain Korasi.
A Black Knight guardian is fightable as a class E boss monster in the Dominion Tower minigame if the player has completed A Void Dance.
Strategy
The Black Knight Guardian is level 110, stronger than any ordinary Black Knight, and also has the ability to drain the player's prayer points in order to heal some of their life points, so it is advisable to drain one's own prayer before attempting the battle. Prayers such as Protect from Melee are still effective, but note that it may not work in the favour of the player. If the player does have prayer points upon starting the fight, then it is advisable to put them to full use (such as using your best combat prayer) to both benefit from it and to give the Guardian less to drain. The Guardian also has extremely high defence and can hit relatively high and often, even on a player with good armour, so a good source of food is advisable. Another very effective method that reduces the need for food is to use either Ice spells(obtained after Desert Treasure), or holding spells like Snare to keep the Guardian away from you, thus keeping damage to a minimum. Blood spells may be a good combo with ice spells so you can freeze him and heal yourself.

Trivia
- The Elite Black Knight Guardian appears to be wearing a modified version of the Saradomin Sword, without the excess ligaments on the blade, only having two indents and a hilt which its Saradomin Symbol has been pointed upwards. Despite the fact it may look like a Saradomin Sword, Black Knights are followers of Zamorak.
- The Guardian wields his 2h sword differently than players.
- Monster Examine states that this monster has a max hit of 114 life points, but they have been known to hit much harder when draining a player's prayer. It is not known whether this is a glitch or not.
- Despite having a lower combat level than an Elite Black Knight, whom they closely resemble, they are by far more dangerous due to their damage output and prayer draining ability, although they attack slightly slower and cannot use prayer themselves.
