Examine text | Animated [metal] armour. |
Animated armour can be created and fought in the Warriors' Guild by using a platebody, platelegs, and a full helm of the same type of metal on one of the Magical Animators. When brought to life, the armour shouts "I'm ALIVE!" and attacks the player that created it. When at low life points, the armour may try to run away from the player, and so it is advised to have run turned on during the fight. Sometimes the armour will run to an Animator and become stuck. If this occurs, the armour will not fight you back, and will not run further. If the player kills the armour, they will usually get back the armour used to create it as well as a certain number of Warrior guild tokens depending on the armour type. Sometimes the armour will "break" during combat, and the player will only receive some of the pieces back.
The armour's combat level can range from 11 for bronze to 138 for rune and can be deadly, especially the adamant and rune varieties. Due to a Warriors' Guild rule, no ranged or magic is allowed, thus the armour can only be fought with melee. Unlike other monsters "weak" to crush, crush weapons really do hit significantly more often against the armour. Players should prepare accordingly.
Players could easily use the magical animators or the fences around them to safespot animated armours. Halberds, preferably dragon, must be used for safespotting.

Trivia
- When used against animated armour, the second hit of the Saradomin sword's special attack, Korasi's sword's special attack, and Dragonfire shield's dragonfire will always miss, because they are not melee-based.
- If you log out or return to lobby while the armour is animated, you WILL NOT receive your armour upon logging in.
- All animated armour's helmet plumes are in the same colour as the armour, rather than how they look like normally on the metal helmet.
- Animated armour has not received the graphical update that came with Troll Warzone.
