The primal spear ties with the gorgonite maul as fifth strongest weapon in Daemonheim at 145 strength, behind the primal maul, primal 2h sword, promethium maul, and promethium 2h sword. It requires 99 Attack to wield. It can only be obtained by getting it as a drop from World-gorger Shukarhazh, who requires a Dungeoneering level of 107 to encounter and defeat. It is also the strongest spear in Daemonheim and the strongest spear in game. As with the rest of the primal set, it cannot be made using the Smithing skill. Primal spears can be poisoned inside Daemonheim using the Herblore skill.

The primal spear is considered the most tactically flexible weapon in the Dungeoneering skill as it is able to use each of the three melee attack styles, stab, slash, and crush, to eliminate enemies quickly. While it may not be as powerful as the other Primal weapons, a player may take advantage of a Daemonheim monster's melee weaknesses and compensate with whichever attack style they are susceptible to.

Trivia

  • The curved blade on the back of the spear seems to be inspired by the Shaolin Spade, a polearm used by the Shaolin monks as both a weapon and, as the name suggests, a digging tool.
  • Vesta's spear's accuracy and defence bonus are much higher, but have lesser strength bonus than the Primal spear.
  • The Primal Spear requires 99 Attack to wield, and since only the World-Gorger Shukarhazh drops it, it has an indirect requirement of 107 Dungeoneering.
