The Promethium 2h sword is a 2h sword obtained in the Dungeoneering Dungeons, requiring level 90 Attack to wield. It has the second highest strength bonus of all Promethium weapons at +157, the highest being the Promethium maul.

It can be obtained from a Forgotten warrior usually of the 134 combat variety as a drop, or made using the Smithing skill. You will need level 98 Smithing and 4 promethium bars.

The Promethium 2h sword has a significant advantage over many other promethium weapons because of its high attack bonuses, strength bonus, and ability to use two attack styles (crush and slash). This weapon is common among dungeoneers who do not have access to the Primal 2h sword, which requires 113 Dungeoneering to obtain.

Comparison to Primal Maul

The first thing that should be said about the Primal Maul is that it is only useful on a smaller portion of dungeoneering monsters. Having a Primal Maul as a bind is very detrimental to a dungeoneering party and is frowned upon by any individuals who intend on getting excellent experience rates.

The Promethium 2h Sword is often compared to the Primal Maul, for both weapons are easily obtained by players with 35 Dungeoneering and above. The Primal Maul is often looked upon for its sheer strength and accuracy while the Promethium 2h Sword for its dual attack styles. While it is true that Primal Maul outclasses the Promethium 2h Sword in terms of power and accuracy, it really only applies to dungeons created for low levelled players.

In dungeons where the majority of the players have maxed combat, the monsters become significantly tougher to deal with. It becomes essential to switch attack styles to bypass the high defences these monsters hold. Example, a Forgotten Mage in a dungeon with high levelled players easily has over 161+ crush defence based on the equipment they wear (Celestial Robes, Spiritbloom Robes). This effectively cuts the attack bonuses of weapons as according. Primal Maul's seemingly high accuracy of 185 really appears to be 24 on these monsters.

Using the same example, the Forgotten Mage has half as much slash defence as crush defence. Taking this, a Promethium 2h Sword going through this monster on slash attack style actually has 80 points of accuracy compared to Primal Maul's 24 points.

In summary, it's better to have a variety of attack styles than sticking to just one because Dungeoneering is built to emphasize the combat triangle and effective attacking styles rather than just numbers and figures.
