Examine | Logs cut from a magic tree. |

Magic logs are logs that can be acquired using the Woodcutting skill from magic trees, or by bringing cursed magic logs into Gielinor. Cutting magic trees requires a Woodcutting level of 75 or higher and yields 250 Woodcutting experience per log cut. When lit, they burn for approximately 5 minutes and 30 seconds.
Magic logs sell for roughly three times the price of Yews or Eucalyptus, but take slightly more than twice as long to cut. At high (85+) levels, Magic logs tend to produce better returns, but at lower levels with the high competition and long respawn times for Magic trees, it can often be more profitable to continue cutting Yews or Eucalyptus instead. The higher the Woodcutting level of the player the larger the profit divide grows, with Yews or Eucalyptus providing better experience but less money. The fastest way to collect Magic logs without any competition is to use the Edgeville's Agility shortcut (51 agility needed) to cross into the Varrock sewers and with 65 Dungeoneering, players can use the Resource dungeon to cut the magic trees inside, which is rarely crowded but offers no bank close by.
Members can burn these logs with the Firemaking skill at level 75 Firemaking, giving 303.8 Firemaking experience, or 309.5 if adding magic logs to a bonfire. A total of 338.1 experience can be gained per log while adding to a full bonfire with flame gloves and Ring of Fire. Members can also use the Fletching skill to cut these logs into magic shortbows at a Fletching level of 80, or magic longbows at a Fletching level of 85, providing 83.3 and 91.5 Fletching experience respectively. They are also used to smith a Rune Spear or Rune Hasta through Barbarian Training.
The third option is to sell them. A full inventory of Magic logs is worth 39284 gp at the current Grand Exchange Market Price.
A final use for Magic logs is to use them in Barbarian Training's Pyre ships, or add Sacred oil to create Magic pyre logs, which can be used in the Shades of Mort'ton (minigame) or with Vyre corpses in the Columbarium. These activities yield prayer as well as firemaking experience.
Two quests and one followup to a quest require Magic Logs. The Desert Treasure quest requires 12 Magic Logs, Mourning's Ends Part I requires one Magic Log to fix the device, and the Balloon Transport System requires 3 Magic Logs to travel from Entrana to Tree Gnome Stronghold initially and 1 afterwards.
When the logs are in a player's inventory, the sparkles around them will change every now and then. The sparkles also animate when the logs are on the ground. The sparkle positions change upon being banked.
One hundred Magic Logs can be looted, one time only, from Movario's base after the While Guthix Sleeps quest.

In total, there are only 22 Magic Trees in the game, excluding the Cursed Magic Tree after the Spirit of Summer quest, and those grown by players through the farming skill, and even if these were included that sums to a maximum possible magic trees in the game of 28.
As Magic Trees are notoriously slow to respawn, the best place to cut them is where there are multiple Magic Trees.
Many players also choose to use the Hydra familiar and use the Regrowth scroll on a Magic tree patch to make it instantly regrow. This works best in the Tree Gnome Stronghold as there are regular Magic Trees next to a tree patch.
For those with 82 woodcutting, another option is in the Wilderness after completing the Spirit of Summer quest. Simply cut the Magic Tree in the Wilderness and enter the Portal (using Jennica's Ring, which you acquire after the quest) into the Spirit Realm which is a plane that is parallel to the Wilderness. At this point in the Spirit Realm, there is a Cursed Magic Tree that can be cut with 82 woodcutting. The Cursed Magic Tree logs turn into Magic Logs after leaving the Realm. Then leave via the Portal and cut the Wilderness Magic Tree. Repeat. When one tree is down, the other grows immediately. This can be dangerous though as player killers are able to kill woodcutters in the wilderness.
Trivia
- There is a graphical glitch that can cause the animation of the magic logs to take on the animation of a fire cape.
- When viewing the icon for magic logs on the Grand Exchange collection menu, the logs sparkle actively and rapidly.
- The log's icon appears to have a blue and white core, however, a Magic Tree stump has a normal-coloured core.
- Magic logs could not be burned in Runescape Classic.
