The Hati paws, along with the Hati head and (in 2012) Hati Cloak, can be received as a drop from taking part in killing Hati in January 2011 and January 2012. When defeated, Hati drops a set of gloves which, when worn, doubles Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranged, Magic, and Constitution experience earned over a set amount of cumulative XP gain, based upon the players levels in those skills. The paws do not provide bonus xp in Prayer or Summoning. Hati also drops a cosmetic hood and (for the 2012 event) cloak made of white wolf fur. If you contribute to the kill you can pick up these rewards, although you’ll only be able to get one of each. Players who have the gloves already receive a recharge of the bonus XP allowance, although they don’t need to be wearing the gloves for this to happen.
Once used up, players cannot get another charged pair unless there is a similar event in following years. The double experience bonus has so far expired around mid-May on both occasions, turning them into purely cosmetic paws.<ref>News Article</ref>
If destroyed, the paws can be retrieved from Diango in Draynor Village. If lost upon death, they do retain what charge they had before the player's death, but cannot be claimed from the player's Gravestone and can be retrieved from Diango as normal or, while the event is on, can be retrieved from the Fremennik citizen at the gate.
Players can only own one pair of paws at a time, and its bonuses do not stack with any similar items (such as sacred clay equipment). If a player equipped both sacred clay armour items and Hati paws, the Hati paws would not lose charges until the sacred clay armour charges are completely drained. The paws also doubles the amount of XP given by a cannon.
The paws give the doubling bonus for all training in combat skills, including alchemy, teleports, and creating teleport tablets for magic, Barbarian Hand Fishing for strength, Polypore staff, and the Dorgesh-kaan agility course for ranged experience. They do not double the experience gained from ranged or magic performances in Balthazar Beauregard's Big Top Bonanza.
The Hati paws can be stored in a Toy box in a Player-owned house.

Trivia
- When harvesting player-grown nightshade, the gloves do not protect against damage; even though the Hati wolf is itself immune to poison. Nettles, on the other hand, can be picked without taking any damage when wearing the paws.
- Hati paws can be worn to Entrana and provide the bonus there whilst killing anything on the island (or in the dungeon below).
- The Hati Paws did not stack with the past Bonus XP Weekend, as stated by Jagex.<ref>Development Blog</ref>
- While fighting with the charged paws, your character occasionally will make snarling or growling noises.
- Unlike many other sounds, which fall under only one classification, the growls produced by the Hati Paws during combat will only be heard if the player has both "Sound Effects" and "Ambient Sounds" turned on.
- The Hati paws' double XP does not stack with Refer a Friend Programme XP bonus. It is unknown whether or not this is intentional (i.e. While equipping the Hati paws and/or Sköll boots during the 7 days of Refer-a-friend, neither item will lose bonus XP percentage).
- When originally announced in Behind the Scenes, Jagex said these gloves would provide 10 hours of bonus experience.<ref>Behind the Scenes - January 3</ref>
- From 10 April 2011 to 10 May, upon logging in, players received a message in their chatbox informing them to use the remaining power of their gloves, as they would "lose their power" on 10 May.
- As explained in the Game Update FAQ for 16 January 2012, when the first Hati event ended, any unused charge on the Hati Paws was not removed. Instead, the game just turned off the ability to access the charge. Consequently, owners of paws that were received during last year's event but not fully drained were able to use the experience gain from the last year's charge and then re-charge them back to 100% by killing Hati.
- During the 2012 event, the XP pop-up had a glitch, in which it did not report the bonus Constitution. It only appeared to report the skill bonus in which the player earned more XP, in this case, attack, strength, defence, ranged, or magic. This can also be witnessed when using sacred clay armour.
- At level 95, the paws last for around 1m total experience (500k normal and 500k bonus).
- Dreadnips attacks do count towards double xp.
- When using chinchompas at Ape Atoll, contrary to popular belief, you DO receive double xp for all hits, not just the first, although the xp counter shows only the first hit as receiving bonus xp.
