The Empty crate is a quest item given to the player by Lead archaeologist Abigail during the Dealing with Scabaras quest. The player is asked to put a number of distressed bronze armour and weapon items into the crate and give it to Simon Templeton near the agility pyramid in the Kharidian Desert.
Possible items that must be put in the crate include oxidised medium helms, oxidised full helms, oxidised chainbodies, oxidised square shields, oxidised kiteshields, oxidised platelegs, oxidised plateskirts, oxidised daggers, oxidised swords, oxidised scimitars and oxidised longswords, all of which can be created by using a bucket of Ugthanki dung on the equivalent bronze item whilst you are standing in the desert.
Once all of the distressed items have been put into the crate it turns into a smelly crate.
