Bloodveld/Strategies
Bloodveld are assigned as a Slayer task by Chaeldar, Sumona, Duradel/Lapalok and Kuradal. These big beasts are very weak to almost any type of combat (like demons). They have an unusually high amount of hitpoints, but deal very low damage in return. As their attack is magical melee, using dragonhide armour will usually block off most of their attacks.
Bloodvelds have a high drop rate of green charms and blood runes.
Locations
- God Wars Dungeon (level 81)
- Slayer Tower (level 76)
- Meiyerditch Dungeon (level 76)
Strategies
Melee
Recommend gear:
- Helm: Full Slayer helm/Black mask (on task) > Helm of Neitiznot > Armadyl helm
- Body: Pernix body > Royal d'hide body > Armadyl chestplate* > Black d'hide body
- Chaps: Pernix chaps > Royal d'hide chaps > Armadyl chainskirt* > Black d'hide chaps
- Weapon: Chaotic rapier > Abyssal vine whip > Abyssal whip > Dragon scimitar
- Offhand: Dragonfire shield > God books > Dragon defender > Rune defender
- Boots: Steadfast boots > Dragon boots > Rune boots
- Ring: Onyx ring (i) > Dragonstone ring (i) > Diamond ring (i) > Berserker ring (i) > Berserker ring > Ring of vigour > TokKul-Zo > any Explorer's ring > Ring of life or Ring of wealth
- Gloves: Goliath gloves > Culinaromancer's gloves 10 > Regen bracelet > Combat bracelet
- Aura: Vampyrism
- Amulet: Amulet of fury > Amulet of glory
Pernix and Armadyl have negative melee attack bonus, so it would be favorable to use Karil's, Royal or Black d'hide if you have sufficient healing and defence.
If using prayers, be sure to use a melee protection prayer. Bring equipment or supplies like Prayer potions to restore prayer points as needed. Alternatively, in places of supplies, if using the Slayer Tower, wear an Ardougne cloak 3 or better and bring a Ring of slaying. Teleport to the Kandarin Monastery using the cloak to recharge prayer and use the ring to teleport back to the tower.
If not using prayers, bring food and/or a healing Familiar.
Ranged
Wear high magic-defence ranged armour (such as good dragonhide armour or Armadyl armour, for some examples) and use a good bow or crossbow. All three locations containing bloodvelds have safespots, so use the safespots to avoid taking any damage.
If using the Meiyerditch Dungeon, the dungeon is a Multicombat area, so one option is to bring a combat familiar to help speed up the kill rate.
Any strategy
Bring Dreadnips if you have any to help speed up the kill rate.
