Asgarnian ale(m)

Mature asgarnian ale, also known as Asgarnian ale (M) is a player made ale. When drunk, this beer temporarily enhances a player's Strength level by 3, at the cost of 6 levels in Attack. It is the stronger, or "mature" version of the standard Asgarnian ale, which enhances Strength by 2 levels at the cost of 4 levels in Attack, which is nearly identical to the effects of regular Beer. Interestingly, it has the exact same effects as Dragon bitter(m). As it is player made, and the actual production of this item is slow and complicated, it tends to be rather expensive.

The full recipe for standard Asgarnian ale is as follows (in the order given):

1. 2 Buckets of Water
2. 2 Barley Malt.
3. (optional) 1 "The Stuff," to increase chance of maturity.
4. 4 Asgarnian Hops
5. 1 Ale Yeast
6. Wait two to five days
7. Collect the completed ale using eight Beer Glasses or two Calquat Kegs*.

• Calquat kegs are highly recommended, especially if the ale has matured. Simply by collecting the ale in a keg, the value of the batch will increase by several thousand gp.

This ale is created through the random chance of player made ales matureing, while brewing Asgarnian ale. Matureing occurs during the Brewing process, not afterwards. Leaving normal ale in the vat once it has finished brewing will not cause it to turn mature or go bad. The chance of a batch of ale matureing can be increased 50% by adding some of "The Stuff" to the vat. See the Brewing guide in the Cooking Guide.

As this ale is player made, it can be collected into a Calquat Keg. Doing so allows the player to hold 4 doses of this beer in one inventory slot, increasing the value and usefulness of this brew several times over. Players can purchase these items from the grand exchange under the name Asgarnian ale(m4).
