An Air rune is a special type of air rune used during The Slug Menace quest. It is made by using a blank air rune on an Air altar in the normal way and is used to unlock a mysterious door in the newly discovered shrine beneath Witchaven.
In order to unlock the door, the player must also have made a special earth rune, a special fire rune, a special mind rune, and a special water rune.
It cannot replace a normal Air rune during spells.
