The Bathus chainbody (Tier 2) is an item that can only be obtained and used while Dungeoneering. It requires level 10 Defence to wear. It may be picked up from the table at the beginning of a dungeon, obtained as a monster drop, or produced using the Smithing skill.
It can be produced by using 3 Bathus bars with a hammer on an anvil, requiring level 16 Smithing and granting 66 smithing experience.
If possible, it is usually advised to produce a Bathus platebody instead, as it gives better defence bonuses overall. However, its crush defence bonus is slightly lower, it requires 5 bars as opposed to 3, and the platebody is less suitable for rangers as it lowers the wearer's Ranged attack bonus.
This item can occasionally be found as starting equipment.
