Starting Out

  • During Back to my Roots quest, players get another hand of Clarence (see The Hand in the Sand when a hand and head was first found). The hand can be found as a drop by killing Jade Vine creatures, near the Karamja Eagle transport system.
  • Go to the Magic guild and ring the bell to make Zavistic Rarve come out. Talk to him to give him the other hand.

Back to the Jade Vine Maze

  • Go back to the Jade Vine Maze, and kill the creatures within the maze.
  • It is recommended that you frequently alternate creatures to get better chances of drops.
  • Take a machete to travel to different parts of the maze. (One in toolbelt will work.)
  • Giant ant workers and Giant ant soldiers, seem to have better drop rates than other creatures.
  • A total of six body parts have to be collected. (Note: It is possible to get all six parts in one trip. With a high combat/range level you could find all pieces in about 15 minutes.) The parts are:

Left arm "A wizard's severed arm. You can tell by the robes." "You can get the arm again from the creatures in the Jade Vine."
Right arm "A wizard's severed arm. You can tell by the robes." "You can get the arm again from the creatures in the Jade Vine."
Left leg "A wizard's severed leg. You can tell by the robes." "You can get the leg again from the creatures in the Jade Vine."
Right leg "A wizard's severed leg. You can tell by the robes." "You can get the leg again from the creatures in the Jade Vine."
Foot "A wizard's severed foot. You can tell by the robes." "You can get the foot again from the creatures in the Jade Vine."
Torso "A wizard's truncated torso. You can tell by the robes." "You can get the torso again from the creatures in the Jade Vine."

Some Recommended Equipment

If you don't have an Anti-poison totem, a Prayer Book can be used. If don't you have either, anti-poisons are recommended.

Sandy's Diary

  • Go back to the Magic guild, and give these body parts to Zavistic Rarve.
  • He will then ask for more evidence of the murder, and offers to teleport you to Sandy's office in Brimhaven.
  • Search Sandy's Desk to get a Locked diary. Unlock the diary. Be warned: A trap can trigger on the diary causing up to 907 damage to your health. This might be best opened at your spawn point or within a player owned house!
  • Read Sandy's unlocked diary, and find out if he really killed Clarence.

The Funeral of Clarence

  • Return to Zavistic Rarve with the diary. With the proof of Sandy's murder of Clarence, he will finally be put to rest and Zavistic will give you the rune rewards.
  • Accept Zavistic Rarve's offer to attend the funeral. After the cutscene, you will be rewarded with 10,000 magic XP. Congratulations, Miniquest complete!

Trivia

  • You, Zavistic Rarve, Robe Store Owner, Professor Imblewyn and an unnamed Wizard are present at the funeral.
  • During the eulogy, it is mentioned that Clarence was a level 5 Mage from the Draynor Wizard's tower.
  • The Robe Store Owner mentions that Clarence was a member of the New Order Occult Bookists. It's really a hidden play on words since the first letters of each word spell out "NOOB."
  • During the final funeral ceremony, in the time when Zavistic Rarve casts the spell to fill the grave with soil, Professor Imblewyn shouts, "Rest in pieces!"
  • After that, the unnamed Wizard complains about only one foot of Clarence being buried using the pun, "one foot in the grave", (you only find and bring one) and your character replies, that he/she couldn't "foot the bill".
  • Before offering to teleport you to Sandy's house to look for evidence, Zavistic Rarve will make a reference to The Wizard of Oz where he tells a girl to click her feet together 3 times to teleport somewhere as a joke.
