Silver dust can be obtained by grinding a silver bar in the bone grinder in the Ectofuntus tower. Unlike most ground ingredients in herblore, silver cannot be ground down by a pestle and mortar (obviously due to the density of the bar). It is an ingredient for the Guthix balance potion, used on several types of Vampyres. Silver dust has no other use besides the potion, so it is not usually up for sale, neither does it sell commonly in the Grand Exchange, but it does have a higher exchange value than a silver bar.
