The Sandy hand is an item from The Hand in the Sand quest. It is actually the severed hand of a now deceased wizard scholar named Clarence. It is possible to destroy it, and if done, another can be obtained from Bert after talking to him. If Bert does not give you the hand, the hand should be recoverable from killing monsters in the Jade Vine maze. The rest of Clarence's body can be discovered while doing a miniquest after completion of the Back to my Roots quest. fi:Sandy hand
