A salve shard is the essential part needed to make the reward from the Haunted Mine quest, the Salve amulet. Salve shards are obtained by chiselling one of the crystal outcrops at the bottom-most level of the Abandoned Mine.
Players attempting to obtain multiple shards should note that the Drop trick does work.
