Imp repellent is a potion used when hunting implings. When you speak with Elnock Inquisitor in Puro-Puro for the first time, ask him if he'd loan you some equipment. You will receive a bottle of imp repellent, among various other important items needed to catch implings.
Imp repellent can be made by anyone, providing you are willing to invest the time and resources into making it. The items you will need are:
- Vial
- Pestle and mortar
- 8 cooked Anchovies
- Flowers; Any flowers can be used (marigolds, rosemary, etc.)
- Sieve; obtained from the chemist in Rimmington
First, you will need to use the cooked anchovies on the pestle and mortar. You will then have an item called Anchovy paste. Make sure you have an empty vial in your inventory, and use the Sieve on the anchovy paste. Your vial will be full of Anchovy oil. Finally, use the flowers on the anchovy oil, and it will become imp repellent.
You can get a vial of imp repellent from Elnock Inquisitor, providing that you trade him these:
- Three captured Baby implings.
- Two captured Young implings.
- One captured Gourmet impling.
Imp repellent has two uses:
- This item helps prevent other imps from pick-pocketing you. If an imp is successful in its picking, it will free one of the captured implings you currently have on you. A higher level in Thieving, furthermore, prevents most, if not all, possibility for an imp to successfully pick-pocket you.
- This item can be used on the Lamp oil still in the chemists' house in Rimmington. After doing so, you can use a butterfly jar on the lamp oil still and the jar will be converted into an impling jar.
