Prince Brand is the son of King Vargas, the ruler of Miscellania. He lives with his father and sister Princess Astrid in the castle on the western side of the island. Female players must get him to agree to marry them during the Throne of Miscellania quest, although they don't get married immediately. He also features in the Royal Trouble quest. Like his sister, he is rather vain. Brand loves cake and thinks he is an amazing poet.
Female player characters who got engaged to Brand in the Throne of Miscellania have the option of marrying him during Blood Runs Deep. Prince Brand and Princess Astrid are killed by the Dagannoth Kings toward the end of the quest, and are cremated in pyre ships.
If you do the Throne of Miscellania quest as a female character and Blood Runs Deep as a male, Prince Brand will acknowledge your gender change; when you speak to him on Brundt's boat after the battle of Rellekka, he says, "Ah, ____, how I wish you were still a woman. You were such a great muse."
Trivia
- Prince Brand's namesake may very well be Prince Brand from the Chronicles of Amber series. In addition to the name, both of them share that vain prospect on life and hair color.
- By changing your gender to and from the gender you had during Throne of Miscelannia, you can go through the proposal dialogue again.
