The Novite chainbody is an item that can only be obtained and used while Dungeoneering. It may be picked up from the table at the beginning of a dungeon, obtained as a monster drop, or produced using the Smithing skill.
It can be produced by using 3 Novite bars with a hammer on an anvil, requiring level 6 Smithing and granting 39 smithing experience.
If possible, it is usually advised to produce a Novite platebody instead, as it gives better defence bonuses overall. However, its crush defence bonus is slightly lower, it requires 5 bars as opposed to 3, and the platebody is less suitable for rangers as it lowers the wearer's Ranged attack bonus.
