A mutated vine is obtained when cutting a jade root (mutated) within the Jadinko Lair. These roots are hanging down around the Jadinko Queen and are blue when mutated instead of the normal green.
140 Woodcutting experience is received per mutated vine cut. They require 83 woodcutting. You will also receive points of favour for doing this, which can be exchanged for rewards at the Offering stone.
Mutated vines may also be received as drops when killing any of the Jadinkos in this lair.
The vine is used to fletch Bolas when combined with Excrescence dropped from Mutated Jadinkos, and Sagaies when combined with Sagaie shafts fletched from Hardened straight roots. Of all the items in the Jadinko Lair, the Mutated Vine and Whip Vine are the only non-finished products that are tradeable.
Scams
Upon the release of the Jadinko Lair, players have used the Mutated Vine in place of the Whip Vine in trades to gain massive profit for an item worth nowhere near the value.
