Mort myre fungi can be obtained in Mort Myre Swamp by casting Bloom with a Blessed Silver Sickle or an Ivandis flail near some dead logs which may or may not grow the fungi.

Each cast of the Bloom will drain a few prayer points from the player, with a maximum of 60. Prayer drain is not affected by how many items are actually made. The Blessed Silver Sickle can only be obtained during and after completion of the Nature Spirit quest.

All the harvests, including the fungi, can be used to fill a Druid pouch, which makes Ghasts visible and attackable. The fungus is equivalent to 1 harvest when filling the Druid pouch. Mort Myre fungus can also be used to make Super energy potions in the Herblore skill.

During While Guthix Sleeps, Mort Myre fungus may be provided by freeing a Druid Spirit along with clean avantoe (ingredients to make a Super energy potion) to place on the Statue representing Energy. Players have to be careful that their Druid pouch doesn't use up the mushroom during this process unless they have already obtained the Dolmen from the Energy statue, as they will have to obtain one manually.

They are also used as food for the Broav pet which was released with While Guthix Sleeps.

Mort Myre Fungus Picking Guide

Picking Mort myre fungi can be a very profitable moneymaking venture, however it has a lot of requirements. The fungi sell for Expression error: Unrecognized punctuation character "[". coins each, and should always sell well due to high demand for making Super energy potions for training herblore and using the potion to make a Recover special. Picking these usually makes 300k-500k an hour with the following given requirements. However, with high enough prayer (and summoning levels for Beast of burdens), People have been able to make over 600k an hour and even 700k an hour. Using prayer potions is also an option but may minimise profits. However, prayer potions are relatively cheap to obtain and restore more than enough prayer points per dose to cover their cost with the fungus picked.

After completion of Deadliest Catch, a new deposit box opens up on the bank of the river salve, right near a set of 3 logs. Using this, players can expect to gain between 700k-800k gp per hour of fungus picking.

While wearing the Morytania legs 1 or higher, you pick 2 fungi per log, both increasing the speed at which you gather fungi and decreasing the prayer required.

Method 1

Requirements:

Steps:

  1. Start at Canifis bank.
  2. Run to the location indicated on the map, stand exactly where indicated to make three simultaneous mushrooms possible.
  3. Cast bloom and pick the fungi. Repeat until Prayer points are 0 or inventory (and that of Beast of Burden, if any) is full.
  4. Cast Teleport to House.
  5. Recharge Prayer at the Altar and Summoning points at the Mini obelisk.
  6. Step through Kharyrll portal.
  7. Run to Canifis bank and deposit collected fungi.
  8. Repeat from beginning.

Alternate way with the same requirements (saves inventory space while collecting the fungi):

  1. Start in any bank and withdraw/equip an Ivandis flail or a Silver sickle(b) .
  2. Withdraw a charged Ring of duelling or Amulet of glory and home teleport runes and teleport to your house.
  3. Recharge your prayer and summoning points (if necessary).
  4. Step through Kharyrll portal.
  5. Run to the location indicated on the map, stand exactly where indicated to make three simultaneous mushrooms possible.
  6. Cast bloom and pick the fungi. Repeat until Prayer points are 0 or inventory (and that of Beast of Burden, if any) is full.
  7. Teleport to Edgeville via your Amulet of glory or Castle Wars via your Ring of duelling and deposit the fungi. Both of these locations are close to a Summoning obelisk to recharge you summoning points if you lack one in your house.
  8. Repeat starting at step 2.

Method 2

Requirements:

Steps:

  1. Start at the fairy ring in Zanaris with your staff and cape equipped.
  2. Use the Fairy ring code B-K-R.
  3. Run south across the small pond to the location indicated on the map. Specifically, go east 8 paces, south 12 paces, and west 5 paces.
  4. Cast bloom and pick the fungi. Repeat until Prayer points are 0 or inventory (and that of Beast of Burden, if any) is full.
  5. Teleport to Kandarin Monastery with the Ardougne cloak. Alternatively, players who do not have an Ardougne cloak may use fairy code D-J-P to teleport to the Tower of Life.
  6. Pray at the Monastery's altar to recharge Prayer points.
  7. Run East to the fairy ring just North of the Tower of Life and return to Zanaris.
  8. Recharge Summoning points at the Small Obelisk next to the Fairy ring in Zanaris (if using Beast of Burden).
  9. Deposit fungi at the Zanaris bank.
  10. Run back to the fairy ring and repeat.

Method 3

Requirements:

Steps:

  1. Start at Canifis bank, with a blessed silver sickle (b) and full prayer points.
  2. Run to the spot mentioned in method 1, and fill your inventory of fungus.
  3. Teleport to your house (make sure you opened House Options beforehand and selected to teleport at the portal to your house).
  4. Look for someone saying "Portals/lecterns/dungeon/gilded altar here!"
  5. Go to their house.
  6. Recharge prayer and summoning points.
  7. Enter the Kharyrll portal.
  8. Bank at Canifis bank.
  9. Repeat.

Method 4

Requirements:

Steps:

  1. Start at Canifis bank, with a blessed silver sickle (b) and full prayer points.
  2. Run to spot mentioned in method 1. and fill your inventory with fungi or do until you run out of prayer.
  3. Either bank in Canifis and run to the nature grotto to pray or run to the grotto and pray and then grab the rest of fungi if you can and bank.
  4. Repeat this process, but the ghasts might take some life away from you so if you don't have a lot of health you should fish in the swamp and eat or kill snails and cook them, or just eat food from the bank.(Do not bring food because, of course, the ghasts will rot it instead of hurting you hence wasting inventory space, and time. This method is similar to method 3 except you stay in Morytania the whole time and it takes longer, this method is not recommended but the benefit is you don't teleport at all, you get a prayer boost from the Nature Grotto altar and the only thing vital is food which is easy to get. This method is for the lower level players. Recommended equipment: try to balance prayer equipment like monks robes with weight reducing equipment.

Also a very good thing to use is full Penance, as it restores your prayer.

Method 5

Requirements:

Steps:

  1. Make sure your spellbook is on Ancient Magicks, then start at Canifis bank with a blessed silver sickle (b) and full prayer points.
  2. Run to the spot mentioned in method 1, and fill your inventory with fungi or until you run out of prayer.
  3. Break the tablet and pray at the Lumbridge Church altar or alternatively, teleport to the Kandarin Monastery using the Cloak and pray at the monastery.
  4. Cast Teleport to Kharyrll and bank your fungi at the Canifis Bank.
  5. Repeat from Step 1.

Method 6

Requirements:

Steps:

  1. Make your way to Mort Myre swamps and begin picking the fungus.
  2. Run to the deposit box located by the fishing spot and bank the fungus.
  3. Break the tablet and pray at your altar in your house and use the Kharyrll portal.
  4. Head back to the swamp and repeat.

Method 7

Requirements:

Steps:

  1. Go into the swamp to where the set of 3 logs next to the deposit box is.
  2. Cast bloom and pick the fungus until full or out of prayer.
  3. Deposit the fungus in the deposit box.
  4. Run southwest to the Nature Altar (inside the circular island's grotto) and restore prayer.
  5. Run back and repeat.

Picking Mort Myre Fungi can be very profitable. The following calculations assume that you are buying 4-dose prayer potions from the GE, and selling the Mort Myre Fungi back to the GE, at the guide price.
