A Button mushroom is a food item that heals 10 life points when consumed. Players obtain three of them whilst doing the Spirit of Summer quest, though they are not needed to complete the quest, and, therefore, players do not need to retain them.
There is a respawn on a rotting wood in the ruined houses on the far west of Wilderness. These mushrooms were released on the same day as the quest, on 29 July 2008.
Players can sell them to the general store for 15 coins, and buy one for 34 coins when there is only one in the player stock. Strangely, this is one of the members objects freely obtainable by F2P players (via the rotting wood in the ruined houses in Wilderness), but it still cannot be consumed or traded in free worlds.
Grand Exchange bug
Bizarrely, on the day they were released, the Grand Exchange Database quoted the market price as 2 coins, the maximum price as 3 coins, and the minimum price as 17 coins. Players also could not buy or sell them on the Grand Exchange. This has since been fixed.
