Lost Her Marbles is the second caper of the Thieves' guild which is only completable after the quest (Buyers and Cellars) and the first caper (From Tiny Acorns) are complete.

The second caper requires you to pickpocket various NPCs for Flame fragments, pieces of solidified fire that they found after a magician had a serious mishap and blew herself up. 32 fragments need to be gathered and they are scattered in various places, no more than 6 in one place.

Walkthrough

After speaking to Darren, it's time to go fragment hunting! To hunt them, just simply pickpocket the target. There are eight categories of target, each of which can give up to six fragments.

Note: It is possible to skip doing two of the groups entirely (such as Rogues), since there are 8 groups for 32 fragments, and regular farmers and Master farmers are counted as separate groups. Just pick 6 fragments from 5 different groups and 2 fragments from the 6th.

Note: Flame fragments from market guards do not stack with fragments from men. Flame fragments from men do not stack with fragments from H.A.M. members and so on.

Note: It is possible to obtain all six fragments from one member of the group through repeated pick-pocketing.

Note: You will lose all of your fragments on death.

Strategy 1 (No teleports, comparably little walking)

  • Pickpocket men/women in Lumbridge for 6 fragments.
  • Go to H.A.M hideout, pickpocket for 2 fragments (because they give unstackable loot).
  • Go in front of Lumbridge mill and thieve the regular farmer for 6 fragments.
  • Go to Draynor Village and thieve the Master Farmer for 6 fragments.
  • Walk north to Varrock Castle, then pickpocket the guards outside of the castle until you gain 6 fragments from them.
  • Go inside the castle, and pickpocket the warrior women in the north-west corner of the ground floor for 6 fragments.
  • Home teleport to Lumbridge, or walk/buy Lumbridge teleport if you aren't on standard spells.

Strategy 2 (Ardougne teleport required)

Start off in Lumbridge.

  • Pickpocket men and women in Lumbridge for 6 fragments.
  • Run to the H.A.M. Dungeon and pickpocket them for theirs.
  • Teleport to Ardougne and steal the 6 fragments from the guards in the market.
  • Run west to pickpocket the warrior women for their 6 (east from the castle, west from the market).
  • After this, exit Ardougne to the north near the farming shop and pickpocket the normal farmer for 6 fragments.
  • This makes 30 fragments; pickpocket the nearby master farmer for the remaining 2 shards.
  • Travel back to the Thieves Guild.

Strategy 3 (Lumbridge teleport or Explorer's ring 3 or higher required)

Start off in Ardougne.

  • Steal the 6 fragments from the guards in the market.
  • Run west to pickpocket the warrior women for their 6 (east from the castle, west from the market).
  • After this, exit Ardougne to the north near the farming shop and pickpocket the normal farmer for 6 fragments. There are also Master Farmers you can pickpocket for 6 more fragments.
  • Then pickpocket men in Lumbridge.
  • This makes 30 fragments; finally go to the H.A.M hideout and pickpocket for 2 fragments.
  • Return to the Thieves Guild.

Strategy 4 (No teleports, lots of walking)

  • Start the same way as above: steal from men and women in Lumbridge first and then go to the H.A.M. hideout.
  • From there, head north to the road near Fred the Farmer and follow it east to the field; pickpocket the normal farmer there.
  • Go to Draynor Market and steal from the master farmer and/or master gardener there.
  • Next, head to Falador's southern entrance and pickpocket the guards there.
  • Now, return to Lumbridge to go to Al Kharid (those who haven't done Prince Ali Rescue need 10 coins to pass, or should enter Al Kharid through Lumbridge Swamp). Steal the last 2 fragments from the Al Kharid warriors in the palace.

Strategy 5 (Very dangerous but short)

  • Start off at the Wilderness. Very few players ever go into the deepest parts of the area at all, but if there is any, they are most likely skillers or PKers. Pickpocket the Rogues until you get the six pieces, and now get out. The problem is with the Chaos Elemental nearby which can kill you in a short amount of time. Use the Obelesks until you are at a good distance to Edgeville.
  • Once at Edgeville, begin pickpocketing the Men in the barn for your six fragments. Go pickpocket the Guards at the jailhouse when you're done with them.
  • Go to Varrock, and pickpocket from the Warrior women there. Due to the Death update, if you die (which is unlikely) you won't have to go far to get back to their place.
  • Go to Draynor Market and steal from the master farmers there. If you keep failing, there's a wine stall that can give out some wine or rum for you to use to heal from the failed pickpockets.
  • Go to the H.A.M hideout, and pickpocket the people there. If you continue to fail there, you'll get kicked out, dealt some damage, and you need to get back inside. This doesn't happen most of the time, but you'll either get kicked outside at a various place or in the jail.
  • Go to the closest Lumbridge farm with attackable farmers and steal the last fragments.
  • Return to the Thieves Guild.

Finishing off

Successful pickpocketing attempts do not always gain fragments; the standard loot may be gained instead. Several attempts may be necessary to get one fragment. The same NPC can be pickpocketed repeatedly until all 6 fragments in the area are gained. A message in the chat box appears when the player gets a fragment. (The player is not told, however, if and when they have gain all the fragments in an area.) It is a simple process to right click any of the fragments you have obtained (or by talking to Robin in the guild) and choosing check, to see which of the NPCs are still available to be stolen from to obtain fragments. Once all 32 fragments are obtained, no more can be received from any NPC. Return the fragments to Darren. Every 8 you return you will be prompted to claim random rewards from Robin. Repeat obtaining these rewards until you have completed the caper. Congratulations, caper complete!

Rewards

Reward for 'Lost her Marbles'
Reward for 'Lost her Marbles'

Rewards from Robin: (Note: A player will receive each of these rewards. However, the quantity of each of the rewards except for the maple logs, raw lobsters, raw swordfish and law runes are completely random.)

Note: All of these (except the runes) are noted. Also, when pickpocketing H.A.M members there is a chance you will be caught and you will end up outside the H.A.M hideout or in a jail in the H.A.M hideout.

Note: The Flame Pieces will show as kept automatically upon death, however this is not true. If you die, you will lose all of them and have to restart your collecting process.

The total monetary value (not including items pickpocketed) of this reward is in the range of Expression error: Unexpected < operator.  Expression error: Unexpected < operator.Expression error: Unexpected < operator.Expression error: Unexpected < operator. and Expression error: Unexpected < operator.  Expression error: Unexpected < operator.Expression error: Unexpected < operator.Expression error: Unexpected < operator..
