The Lava Maze Dungeon mine is a small mining site found in the deep Wilderness. To reach the mine, players must travel to the centre of the Lava Maze, where the Lava Maze Dungeon's eastern entrance can be found.
Once players enter the eastern entrance, they will be in the dungeon's western side. A single runite rock can be found here. However, the mine is extremely dangerous; several level 92 greater demons wander the dungeon, and two level 227 black dragons can also be found nearby. The dragons can easily be trapped behind the rock, but players will likely be attacked and poisoned by the poison spiders wandering near the rock. With some maneuvering, however, the spiders can be trapped behind stalagmites, and a prayer book may be used to cure the poison dealt by the spiders. The area is a single combat zone, so only one monster can attack players at once.
The Lava Maze Dungeon mine was originally one of very few areas were runite ore could be mined. Since its addition to the game, however, several new runite mining areas have been released, such as the North Keldagrim mining area and Central Fremennik Isles mining site. New mines have generally been located more conveniently and been comparably less dangerous, leading to the Lava Maze site's relative emptiness.
