Vesta's spear is part of Vesta's Equipment, and is obtained by killing revenants in the Forinthry Dungeon, or killing the Chaos Elemental. This weapon has a special attack called Spear Wall which damages everyone adjacent and prevents melee attacks from striking the wielder for 5 seconds. When activated, the player grasps the middle of the spear with both hands and spins it rapidly, creating a sound similar to the Dragon longsword special attack. It drains 50% of the special bar, but only the non-corrupt version features the special attack. Its special attack can be used by rich players as a replacement for the dragon 2h sword's special attack, as all surrounding enemies are hit, but Vesta's spear has a higher max hit.
The spear has an extremely high stab, crush and slash attack, so it can be used for almost any PvM situations. It is very effective against the Corporeal Beast.
The corrupt version requires 20 Attack for 15 minutes of combat, while the normal version requires 78 Attack and lasts for an hour of combat. After the time is up, the spear will vanish, although it can be alchemised before it turns to dust. If a player is made to lose a degrading Vesta's Spear in the Wilderness or inside the dangerous portal at clan wars, 780,000 coins will be dropped in its place.
Contrary to popular belief, this item does not degrade while using non-combat magic.
- As an hour contains 6000 ticks and the spear hits once per 5 ticks, you are able to hit 1200 hits with this spear before it degrades. Thus, each hit costs approximately 2168.2 coins when using this spear.
When using the spear it will always use at least 1 minute's charge even if only using it for one hit. In one minute one can spec up to 3 times using ring of vigour, 2 special recovers and auto-restoring SA energy. This means it will cost roughly 35k per special attack before degrading.
