The Karidian headpiece is an item that players can buy for one coin from Ali Morrisane's stall in Al Kharid, or from the market seller in Pollnivneach general store. When combined with a fake beard it forms a desert disguise, which is required for The Feud. Despite its examine text, players cannot wear the headpiece by itself, and must combine it with the fake beard first in order to wear it.
The name of this item is notable for the lack of an H in the word "Karidian". This differs from other terms that probably have the same origin, such as Kharidian Desert or Al Kharid, and may be a spelling mistake on the part of Jagex. Or, it might well reflect different dialects among the desert dwellers, with "kh" the aspirated form of some and "k" the unaspirated form of others. It may be that "Karidian" is the dialect of Ali Morrisane and others from Pollnivneach, while "Kharidian" is the dialect of Al Kharid. Different dialects may be part of the reason people of Al Kharid dislike those from Pollnivneach.
Trivia
- There was a glitch a few days after its release where the karidian headpiece would stretch over the characters face to make him/her look like a sheep.
