Jangerberries are used in Herblore to make Zamorak brews. They can also be eaten and heal 20 life points, temporarily raise your Attack level by two, Strength level by one, and restore ten Prayer points for the price of one Defence level. There are four spawns on a small Ogre island west of Yanille<ref group="note">This island requires that you take a rope each time you want to get onto it; use the rope on the branch of the long branched tree located west of the island. A Mith grapple will not work in place of a rope. Alternatively, you can use telekinetic grab to transfer the berries to your inventory. However, this is not recommended as the value of a law rune is much higher than the value of one set of berries.</ref> Jangerberries can also be grown using Jangerberry seeds with the Farming skill at level 48 Farming, a player can pay the farmer 6 watermelons to look after the bush. They can also be used to make supercompost.

When planted, players will receive 50 experience and 285 experience for checking the bush's health. Players will then get 19 experience for harvesting each Jangerberry, equalling a total of 76 experience for harvesting a fully grown Jangerberry Bush.

Jangerberries are also used in the Watchtower quest and can be randomly selected as an item needed in the quest Fairytale I - Growing Pains. If you do get this item for the fairytale quest, it would be advisable to bring 4 or more (or simply bring Druid pouches), because the Ghasts in Mort Myre Swamp may turn it into rotten food. This makes it useless, and may result in you doing more running than necessary if it happens.

When extreme potions and the overload potion were released, jangerberries spiked to around 1000 coins each as many players were training herblore, and some of them by making Zamorak brews. However, prices soon crashed as most players believe that the torstol required is put to better use for overloads.
