A Severed leg is given by the ghost form of General Khazard during the Shadow Sword miniquest. It is used in the battle against the ghost of Bouncer. When the LP of the ghost Bouncer is low enough, the player will automatically throw the leg to distract it. It is not possible to defeat the ghost of Bouncer without the leg.
If you lose the leg you can get another from the ghost of General Khazard who says "Here, take another. They are easy to come by."
If the player has completed the Hand in the Sand quest, Khazard will ask them why they are not surprised to see the leg. The player will replied that they have had "dealt with this sort of thing before". This is a reference to Clarence's gruesome severed hand that plays a main part in the aforementioned quest.
