The Strongest monster in RuneScape (based on combat level) is currently the level 2100 Queen Black Dragon. Although the Ferret of Doom and its friends are portrayed as having a combat level of 9001, they are not included as they are not actually monsters and likely only appear to have those levels due to Thok's phobia of ferrets.

Notes
- The Evil chicken DID appear as random event, but could not be fought. It could've been randomly encountered in various chicken farms throughout Gielinor, provoking other chickens to fight against their human masters.
- The list does not include Dungeoneering bosses.
- The level 297 Hazeel, 752 Spirit Beast, 750/800 Lucien and 9001 Ferret of Doom/Ferret of Doom's friend are excluded because they are not fought by conventional methods.
- The list does not include limited-release monsters: the level 654 Hati and level 672 Sköll (and level 562 WildyWyrm).
- An all encompassing list would be levels: 9001, 9001, 2100, 1001, 800, 800, 800, 800, 785, 780. The Ferret of Doom and friends are a joke on Jagex's part and cannot be engaged conventionally or even unconventionally (not a combat threat in the slightest). The tentacles of Har-Aken also have a combat level of 800, and there are two types with different names and attack styles. Also included is Lucien, witnessed but not fought during Ritual of the Mahjarrat, after being rejuvenated (800).
