Gudrun is a non-player character central to the storyline of the Gunnar's Ground quest. Before the quest, she can be found in Gunnarsgrunn; arguing with Kjell near the Stronghold of Security entrance. Players must deliver an engraved ring to her at the behest of secret admirer Dororan; the Dwarven poet.

Gudrun is also the daughter of Chieftain Gunthor. She is polite and loves silent activities; unusual for most of the barbarians in Gunnarsgrunn. In particular, it is mentioned that she has been caught buying fish from Varrock instead of catching them herself as a barbarian is expected to do.

During the quest it is revealed that Gudrun has an abnormal fondness for outlanders - people from outside of her village - especially for poets who are greatly respected individuals within barbarian culture. In her own words "[I] would love to leave the village and be romanced by exotic, handsome, outlander men." This desire, however, runs contrary to the wishes of her Chieftain father. The player must reason with Gunthor and convince him to allow his daughter to court an outlander. Ultimately it is Gudrun's presentation of the poem Gunnar's Ground that changes Gunthor's mind.

It is found during and after the quest that she has a fondness for jewellery, as per her reaction to Dororan's gifts to her.

After the quest she can be found in the house West of Varrock's western bank, where Juliet used to live and part of the old Romeo & Juliet quest that Gunnar's Ground replaced. The Leptocs probably moved, and left the house to them, as told in the chat after the quest.

Trivia

  • The name Gudrun is the same name as in Norse mythology where Gudrun is the wife of Sigurd. She is also in Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen.
