The Gorgonite platebody is an item released with the Dungeoneering update. It is the third strongest platebody available in Daemonheim, and the second strongest smithable platebody. It can be made with 5 Gorgonite bars and requires level 89 Smithing, giving 432.5 experience. Gorgonite platebodies are dropped by Forgotten warriors seen wearing the platebody. It requires 80 Defence to wear.
A Gorgonite platebody has higher stab, slash and ranged defence bonuses than any surface armour. However, its crush defence bonus is noticeably poor, only 1 higher than a Dharok's platebody, Torag's platebody or Guthan's platebody.
Apparently, when you have found/made a Gorgonite platebody (and Promethium, and Primal), the lights in the middle are not blue. However, when worn, it turns blue. This is not the case with Bathus, Novite or Marmaros platebodies. Though it gives good defence, it does not give any attack bonuses.
