The Fractite spear is a two-handed Dungeoneering weapon that can be made at level 47 Smithing. Making the fractite spear requires 4 fractite bars. It requires 40 Attack to wield. The fractite spear is the strongest spear available to free players; however, it cannot be removed from Daemonheim.
Fractite spears can be poisoned inside Daemonheim using the Herblore skill. Poisoning the spear makes it a members item.
Comparison with Fractite 2h
Although the Fractite Spear might seem weaker than the Fractite 2h sword due to its lower attack and strength bonuses, its strength lies in its flexibility; it can perform all three attack styles (stab, slash, and crush), as opposed to the Fractite 2h's two (slash, crush). This is particularly important in Dungeoneering because monsters usually have very high defence against two attack styles and are vulnerable to the third style. The Fractite spear allows the player to exploit the weaknesses of any monsters encountered. It is also slightly faster than a 2h sword, with the same speed as a that of a longsword or battleaxe. As with a 2h sword, the Fractite Spear disables the use of a shield and the ability to train a specific melee skill (only controlled and defensive given).
Tactically, the Fractite Spear is superior to the 2h or Maul in both speed and attack style flexibility. However, the 2h and Maul are substantially more accurate and can deal considerably more damage per hit than a Fractite Spear due to the greater strength bonuses they provide when equipped. Against a well-armoured foe, the lack of accuracy renders the Fractite Spear ineffective compared to the other two-handed Fractite weapons.

Trivia
- The spear turns upside down in your inventory when it is bound.
- When you use the crush attack, you are mimicking the throwing of a javelin.
- Surprisingly, the Fractite Spear is actually superior to the Dragon Spear in almost all aspects. This goes along with the concept of the metals within Daemonheim being strong.
