The Fractite chainbody (Tier 5) is an item that can only be obtained and used while Dungeoneering. It is the strongest chainbody that free players can obtain in Daemonheim. It requires level 40 Defence to wear. It may be picked up from the table at the beginning of a dungeon, obtained as a monster drop, or produced using the Smithing skill.
It can be produced by using 3 Fractite bars with a hammer on an anvil, requiring level 46 Smithing and granting 147 smithing experience.
If possible, it is usually advised to produce a Fractite platebody instead, as it gives better defence bonuses overall. However, its crush defence bonus is significantly lower, and it requires 5 bars as opposed to 3. On free worlds, rangers may find the fractite chainbody very useful, as it gives strong defence bonuses but does not lower the wearer's Ranged attack bonus.
