Fire blast is the strongest free-to-play magic fire spell and combat spell as well as the third strongest fire spell for members in the standard spellbook. This spell deals a maximum damage of 160 without boosts. The catalytic rune used for this spell is one death rune. A fire staff can be used to cut the costs of this spell. Like all combat spells, each damage point caused by this spell yields 0.2 magic experience and 0.133 constitution experience.

Because of its powerful hits, free-to-play mages often use the spell in Clan Wars, at the Duel Arena, in Fist of Guthix, and in Daemonheim. Pures who only train magic are able to cast this spell at a combat level of 31. This spell is used in a Lumbridge/Draynor hard task, Blast and Hellfire.
