The Falador shield 1 is a small buckler shield achieved by completing the easy Falador Tasks. 10 Defence is required to wield it. If you lose your shield you can get another by talking to Redbeard Frank in Port Sarim, easily reached using the Explorer's ring 3. It is one of the items that are always kept on (normal) death, although it can be lost in the Wilderness if it is not among the three/four/one (depending on skull and protect item status) most valuable items.

The shield has the same stat bonuses (not including prayer) as a White or Black kiteshield.

Benefits

A player using the shield to restore prayer points.
When worn
Operate
  • Restore up to 25% of your max prayer points (rounded down) once per day (resets at 00:00 UTC)

Notes: The prayer restore feature is very hard to use during combat, as a confirmation chatbox is opened, and will be closed if you are hit. Therefore, it is unwise to rely on the shield to restore your prayer if it is essential to survival - however it is possible, with good timing, to restore prayer in single combat, although it is significantly harder to do so in multicombat. The power of the shield is usable even in the other-dimensional, Prayer-draining, Abyssal plane though it may be difficult to use it simply for the amount of high-level aggressive monsters attacking the player.

Trivia

  • The Falador shield 1 bears a striking resemblance to the springs in Sonic Adventure.
  • Because of the close resemblance to the Saradomin mark it is sometimes called the Saradomin shield (beware of confusion with the Saradomin kiteshield.
  • Unlike other Emotes, the shield's Emote can be used in combat.
  • Despite having the symbol of Saradomin on them, none of the Falador Shields offer protection from Saradomin's forces in the God Wars Dungeon.
