A Damp tinderbox is made when a player falls into the water with a tinderbox on the 5th level of the Abandoned Mine. This renders the tinderbox useless and unable to light any type of light source. This is so the player must complete the Glowing fungus puzzle to be able to see, and thus finish the quest.
This item is tradeable and not sold in the Grand Exchange. In a hidden update in late 2008 Jagex removed the option to sell in the Grand Exchange.
