A chain is one of the items required to make a Cannonball barrel-boat during the quest A Clockwork Syringe. It can be found in the Repair locker within the hold of The Adventurous, Bill Teach's ship. When used on a tinderbox, it turns into a heated chain which may then be attached to a cannonball using the anvil on the ship. The cannonball and chain may then be combined with a barrel to produce a cannon-barrel boat.
