The Build Number is the number given to the RuneScape client. It can be seen in the bottom-right corner of the Developers Console. Every time RuneScape is updated the build number is increased by one. Players were not able to see the build number until the Developers Console was made available to everybody on 15 September 2010.

Trivia
- During build 666 the console's background turned from light purple to red; this is probably due to the fact that the number 6-6-6 is commonly associated with the devil. During build 667 the console returned to its original light purple colour.
- When the Christmas 2011 event was released, the dev console appeared to have falling snow in the background and a snow drift at the bottom.
