Bronze equipment is the weakest metal equipment in RuneScape. As with all things bronze, pieces of bronze equipment have a brown-like colour. The skill requirement to equip and use bronze weapons is level 1 Attack. The skill requirement to wear bronze armour is level 1 Defence.

Weapons

Bronze weapons give small attack and strength bonuses, allowing players to hit more often and slightly harder than when using unarmed combat, but not as accurate or as hard as weapons made of iron or better. It is common for low level players to wield bronze weapons as they are very cheap to buy and can be made with a low smithing level. However, some high-level players may use them occasionally in clan wars or 'bronze wars'.

Armour

Bronze armour is the weakest metal armour available to all players of RuneScape (aside from the training shield, which is actually made of wood, and the wooden shield). Most players might be considered a "noob" by higher-level players when wearing bronze armour due to the lack of defensive bonuses. It is mainly worn by new players, although some very high-levelled players will occasionally wear it either for the laughs or to confuse people.

Usage

Bronze armour is a decent set of armour for new players who are just starting off; bronze armour provides sufficient protection while fighting RuneScape's weakest monsters. However, if a player is fighting a low level spell casting monster, it is recommended to remove the armour as keeping it on will increase the damage received. It is advisable for new players and pure players alike to upgrade to Iron-type armour as soon as possible as iron has the same defence requirement to wear as bronze, but increased defensive bonuses. During Dealing with Scabaras, some bronze equipment is required to be oxidised.

Grand Exchange Sets

Players can buy bronze armour sets on the Grand Exchange rather than buy each piece individually. The Grand Exchange offers two different sets of bronze armour for purchase.
