Silly jester boots are acquired during the Fremennik Isles quest, and are allowed to be kept upon completion. They have the second highest Magic defence bonus of any boots in game, only beaten by the ragefire boots. They share this title with infinity boots. One would think that this would make them a good choice for monsters that use magic, such as Bloodveld, Jellies and Waterfiend, but the strength bonus of dragon boots or steadfast boots is usually the better option.
If a player were to lose their Silly jester boots, they could get them back by searching the king's chest on Jatizso.
During the 2008 Hallowe'en event, jester boots were considered a costume item when trick or treating.
